Free Structural Organisation In Animals (Daily Quiz: 7) NEET Biology Questions & Answers with Detailed Explanation & Full Review
Free Structural Organisation In Animals (Daily Quiz: 7) Time:
Question-1
Lack of blood supply and presence of the non-cellular basement membrane are the characteristics of the
(a)
(b)
(c)
(d)
Answer: (c)
Epithelial tissue covers the body surface, or lines the body cavity. The cells rest upon a non-cellular basement membrane which is secreted by epithelial cells. It is not nourished by blood, so nonvascularized.
Question-2
Globulins contained in human blood plasma are primarily involved in
(a)
(b)
(c)
(d)
Question-3
The intercellular material of the given figure is solid and resists compression. Identify the figure and the label marked as A & B.
Fig. A B (a) Cartilage Collagen Chondrocyte (b) Cartilage Collagen Chondroclast (c) Bone Microtubule Chondroclast (d) Bone Collagen fibres Osteoblast
Fig. | A | B | |
(a) | Cartilage | Collagen | Chondrocyte |
(b) | Cartilage | Collagen | Chondroclast |
(c) | Bone | Microtubule | Chondroclast |
(d) | Bone | Collagen fibres | Osteoblast |
(a)
(b)
(c)
(d)
Answer: (a)
The given figure represents the image of cartilage. Cartilage is an important structural component of the body. It is a firm tissue but is softer and much more flexible than bone. It is a connective tissue found in joints between bones e.g. the elbows, knees and ankles; ends of the ribs; between the vertebrae in the spine; ears and nose; bronchial tubes or airways. Cartilage is made up of specialized cells called chondrocytes (B). These chondrocytes produce large amounts of extracellular matrix composed of collagen (A) fibres, proteoglycan, and elastin fibres. There are no blood vessels in cartilage to supply the chondrocytes with nutrients.
Question-4
Stratum germinativum is an example of which kind of epithelium?
(a)
(b)
(c)
(d)
Answer: (b)
Stratum germinativum (also stratum basale or basal cell layer) is the layer of keratinocytes that lies at the base of the epidermis immediately above the dermis. It consists of a single layer of tall, simple columnar epithelial cells lying on a basement membrane. These cells undergo rapid cell division, and mitosis to replenish the regular loss of skin by shedding from the surface. About 25% of the cells are melanocytes, which produce melanin which provides pigmentation for skin and hair.
Question-5
Assertion:
Cockroach is monoecious.
Reason:
Male and female sex organ is present in single organism.
(a)
(b)
(c)
(d)
